Drawing on themes from luxury, glamorous and trendy blends Eskada Club Porto stands for an invigorating atmosphere. Thought from a range of differently design rooms, each with its own special feature it has achieved a unique environment out of the mix between past, present and future.

In the buildings restoration, materials were carefully chosen to guaranty comfort and innovative design. 

The historical context of this small vacant lot located at the epicenter of Montreal student life became the primary inspiration for the urban renewal project, which lead to the exploration of an innovative concrete fabrication technique; photoengraved concrete panels that enabled the building to tell a story.

The project encapsulates an architecture ‘parlante’; an architecture that heightens the intellectual and perceptual experience of its inhabitants by stimulating active looking. 

Surrounded by typical Vietnamese row houses on all sides, House for Trees stands out like an oasis.

The site is a remnant landlocked block within this suburb, accessed only by a small pedestrian lane. Resonating with this urban tissue, the house is designed as an accumulation of small fragments.

One of the most demanding tasks in Porto nowadays is the intervention on the major amount of old and historical buildings of Porto´s downtown. This project is a renovation of a 19th century building to convert to a 17 housing unit for students and young people in general.

Rather than revealing the entire surrounding landscape, the choice is made to develop, in the house, a scenario that consists several stories where each sequence present a new discovery.

Three built undulating bodies take place in the slope and stretch as slender overhanging the landscape. Interconnected by a simple entity, new spaces are made possible by the establishment of protected terraces and outdoor spaces.
