The 25th International Union of Architects World Congress of Architects, UIA 2014 Durban, is being held at the International Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa, from 3-7 August 2014. 

The Congress theme is ‘ARCHITECTURE OTHERWHERE’ and will celebrate diversity by exploring other communities, other regions, other disciplines, and other ways of thinking about, practicing and teaching architecture. 

From 1 to 30 June 2014 the London Festival of Architecture is a month-long, city-wide celebration of architectural experimentation, thinking, learning and practice.

An active programme of architectural installations and interventions provoke questions about the future life of the city and promotes positive change to the city's public realm.

The World Architecture Day is celebrated annually on the first Monday of October to remind the role of architecture and the engagement of architects in the vitality of the urban setting and in the well-being of its inhabitants. 

“Healthy Cities, Happy Cities” is the theme chosen by the International Union of Architects (UIA) to be used as a motto in several countries joining the celebration of this day, showing how the development of sustainable practices has an impact on urban spaces.
