The ceremony of the FAD Architecture Award 2013 occurred on 11 July in Barcelona, ending the FAD Fest, Festival of Design and Architecture, held in the Catalan capital over 15 days.

From a total of 401 candidates for this award, considered one of the most important architectural awards in the Iberian Peninsula, 27 finalists were selected, 6 of which Portuguese, under the categories Architecture, Interiors, City and Landscape, Ephemeral Interventions, and Thinking and Critic.

The FAD Architecture Award was delivered ex aequo to the architects Pedro Domingos, for his project of a school in Sever do Vouga, and Toni Gironès by his project of Dolmen Megalithic Space in Seró.

The project of a school in Sever do Vouga, by the Portuguese architect Pedro Domingos, was considered by the jury as "a project that makes the experience of inhabiting memorable, from the perspective of a child, through routes and open spaces of great richness. While it is an intervention on a large scale, it can properly integrate existing and new architectural pieces with a studied adaptation to the topography. "

The jury also described the Dolmen Megalithic Space in Seró, by architect Toni Gironès as "An image apparently unfinished and some simple materials that conceal a rich reflection on the environment, the values of the rural heritage and the relationship between an evident past and a present of agriculture. A skillful use of resources avoiding the unnecessary creates elaborate spaces - some strongly emotive and gives rise to an equipment adapted to the context. "
