Álvaro Siza Vieira announced yesterday the decision on his archive, which will be donated by the architect himself, to Fundação Gulbenkian, Fundação de Serralves and Canadian Centre for Architecture, in Montreal, Canada.

The architect explains that during the last years he sensed the need to organize the archive of his many years of activity dedicated to architecture, looking for "a solution he considered substantiated", and he found that "there was a clear interest on the part of individuals and institutions." 

Today opened the world’s first inflatable concert hall, a huge purple structure built a in Matsushima city park, in north eastern Japan, created especially for Lucerne Festival Ark Nova 2013.

The structure is named ARK NOVA and was created by British sculptor Anish Kapoor and the Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, consisting essentially an inflatable membrane lined with polyester that can be easily deflated and transported across the region, allowing to hold events that "help unite people".

This innovation goes by the name Starpath and is the first pavement in the world powered by solar energy, a sustainable alternative to public lighting.
