A Sustainable Island
Corvo seeking energetic autonomy
By ArchReady - 28/Mar/2013

The first phase of replacing butane gas consumption by solar panels and heat pumps in 37 houses on the island of Corvo in Azores, has been completed.
This initiative will enable a reduction of energy costs of each inhabitant and also reduce the costs that the Government behaves with the transportation of gas tanks between Ponta Delgada and Corvo.
The change has impressive advantages in reducing costs, improving the quality of life for inhabitants, and of course for the environment with the use of renewable energy.
The second phase will include the remaining 108 homes on the island.
