The fair will be divided into three major sectors, namely: Dining, Giving and Living. The first one is dedicated to home, kitchen and table. The 2nd to the Gift sector: gifts, stationery and decoration, fashion on jewelry and watches, personal accessories and Beauty & Bath. Finally, the 3rd sector presents the future of home furnishings and decor. With impressive numbers, around 150,000 visitors a year, the fair Ambiente is a great opportunity for European design editors.

The major producers of design objects have imposed in the 50’s and 60’s, art multiples in addition to their usual products. And today some producers became the main characters, among others Portuguese Vista Alegre, the German Rosenthal or Finnish Iittalla. Factories with thousands of workers, whose history dates back to the beginning of the last century, which have adapted to the times and democratize art through multiple editing.

Meantime, new companies came up with an essentially editor vocation, free of heavy industrial machinery maintaining in some cases testing and research products. Such cases include the German Ritzenhoff.

The new editors, heavy industries free, invest all the energy in the dissemination of objects with a marked author signature, and therefore the concerns relate to researching new authors, product packaging, and information to art collectors in Marketing Design. The creation of an asset based on the author signature that exceeds the material value of the products. As a record label that does not need factory for pressing discs.

From the many design editors in the table sector, Ritzenhoff is probably the only one that managed to become a major industry but without factory. The world of design came to Marsberg in Germany where, until then, almost all beer glasses were produced by the existing German brands. Since then, the Ritzenhoff name became familiar in the design world. Architects, designers, illustrators, BD artists, sculptors and advertisers have given imagination a free rein. And Ritzenhoff spreads its design around the world, in different glassware, satisfying art collectors. Some Portuguese and foreign artists have already some of their creations edited by Ritzenhoff.

During the period of the fair, there will be numerous events and special presentations, award ceremonies and diversified activities. New ideas associated with design, contemporary issues such as sustainability, creativity and emotion will be placed in the spotlight.

In the trade fair space there will also be organized exhibitions highlighting the Design Plus (an award assigned to innovation design), the German Design Award (awarded by the German Design Council to the best trading products), KitchenInnovation of the Year (an independent jury represented by consumers chooses the winner from a list selected by experts, and the prize is awarded at the trade fair Ambiente) and Talents, Creativity for tomorrow (with new products constantly being invented, the fair Ambiente promotes and rewards young designers and their ideas).
