Close, Closer… near the end
3rd Lisbon Architecture Triennale
The three months in which the city of Lisbon was invaded by architecture, spoken, heard, looked, experienced ... are approaching the end.
It's already next Sunday, December 15, the closing day for the exhibitions of the 3rd Lisbon Architecture Triennale - Close, Closer.
And here it was demonstrated that architecture should not be treated only by architects, but also professionals from different fields, sociologists, scientists, curators and artists can make their contribution to a more comprehensive and well founded vision of this subject.
Architects or others, here is the invitation to visit some still ongoing free exhibitions:
Exhibitions at the Triennale’s Headquarters:
Anticlimax: a report on the metabolist dream
Authored by Fala Atelier, finalist of the first edition of the Millenium BCP Lisbon Triennale Début Award for architects under 35 years, this exhibition illustrates the actual daily life of one of the most emblematic buildings of the twentieth century, Nakagin Capsule Tower (Tokyo , 1972).
No Espaço que Separa as Coisas
Reencounter with the last resident of the Palace Sinel de Cordes, an installation combining photography and sound, by Catarina Botelho and Helena Inverno.
Spaces of Action
Curated by Maria do Mar Fazenda and Filipa Valladares, the project brings together different approaches to the privileged architecture’s area of action, observed as history and sociology, political scene, landscape and language.
Radical Pedagogies
A critical look at a series of educational experiences that marked architectural discourse and practice in the second half of the twentieth century. The project integrates a research, led by Professor Beatriz Colomina and performed by PhD students at the Princeton University's School of Architecture.
