#2 Designed by the Swedish TAF, this staircase is a low-budget project made from piled pine boxes. The cut out between the ground floor and attic was very low and didn’t allow building a regular staircase, which led to the inclination of the steps to obtain a functional proportion with the right amount and height of steps.

#3 This colourful spiral staircase, designed by  AB Rogers, was custom made using steel structure and colored fiberglass, crossing the entire spectrum of the rainbow as it flows through the house. The colours spread on each floor creating an amazing visual rhythm over a vertical axis.

#4 This beautiful staircase wrapped in an irregular steel mesh is the centerpiece of a home renovated by French studio Archiplein in Rochebaudin, France.

#5 This staircase with its alternating steps was designed by n2C architecture to be a perfect union of functionality, structure and form. Functionally, the ladder is comfortable, safe and spatially efficient. The staircase open sides provide accessible storage areas. With regard to the structure, the steps geometry enables a firm fixation to a single central slim structural piece.

#6 For book lovers, this library staircase in English oak designed by the British LEVITATE combines both concepts of staircase and bookshelves, where steps are perfectly aligned with shelves, in an original solution that allows to maximize storage space.

#7 This beautiful spiral staircase involved with shelves was designed by Portuguese architect Manuel Maia Gomes and extraordinarily photographed by Fernando Guerra. The staircase is part of the Casa Antero de Quental, a rehabilitation of this nineteenth century poet’s home into a literary centre.

#8 This staircase was designed by London architect Alex Michaelis and includes a side slide, parallel to the stairs, making the way down a lot more fun, especially for children.

#9 The French studio TETRARC designed this beautiful and sculptural staircase for a School of Arts, coated in laminated wood strips, some of which were painted to increase the dynamism that it provides to this space.
