Facing the current economic climate, the rehabilitation market is gaining a higher expression. Increasingly, renewing is a preferred option.

In anticipation of the expansion of this market, Margres introduced in Portugal, in 2008, the revolutionary 3mm thick laminated stoneware slabs, allowing its placement over existing floors. Kerlite was the first range introduced into our market, followed by Linea which provides in laminated stoneware slabs some of the most successful Margres collections, already existing in regular thickness.

Laminated stoneware slabs reveals as the ideal solution for renovating spaces as it offers several advantages over conventional ceramic tiles: applicability over existing flooring and coatings, with a consequent reduction of time of completion, cost reduction with hand labour, avoiding demolishing and therefore reducing dust, debris, noise, etc.

It also offers advantages even in first applications in new buildings due to its lightness, high strength, large size, ease of cutting and flexibility. The large formats of the slabs, which can be up to 3x1 meters, are another major attraction in this product, suiting contemporary architecture requirements that emphasize wide formats.

The unique characteristics of Linea and Kerlite laminated stoneware slabs also enable new applications that were not previously possible for ceramics, such as furniture coating, kitchen worktops and bathroom counter tops.
