Multi colored buildings
Contemporary architecture beyond white
Your Rainbow Panorama (Aarhus, Denmark) | Olafur Eliasson
Color is a very important part of our world and it is present in every element surrounding us: landscapes, seasons, plants, animals, objects and buildings created by man.
Color has always played an important role in human evolution. The environment and its colors are perceived by our brains in a simultaneously subjective and objective manner.
Color has a powerful effect, able to communicate and transmit information, and its perception can have a strong psychological effect on a subject.
Countless white buildings repeated throughout our landscapes might lead us to believe that there has been a devaluation of color in contemporary architecture. However, color is and will always be a very important part of architecture, which can convey emotions and feelings, providing character and identity to buildings and landscapes.
We selected some of the best examples of multi colored buildings, all over the world, that can brighten any city even in the cloudiest days...
