The beach with the best view over Lisbon

The first urban beach in Lisbon just opened, making the Garden of Torel the newest attraction point in the city, during the entire the month of August, for residents and tourists providing many events and activities, with music and outdoor cinema, always with free entrance.

The initiative of creating an "urban beach" at the very heart of Lisbon lies with the Parish of Santo António and involves transforming the garden’s existing eighteenth century artificial lake into a bathing area with a privileged view over downtown Lisbon, featuring a sand area with parasols, lifeguards and even the traditional Berlin balls!

Despite the lake’s limited capacity, for about 50 people, visitors will be able to lay their towels in a sand area with about 400 square meters, featuring 60 parasols. And for those who just prefer to walk around, visit the garden and admire its stunning view, the upper part of Torel will remain unspoilt with its shadows and the gazebo, with enough room for about 5000 people.

Torel’s Urban Beach opens every day until August 31, from 10:00 to 20:00, and later on weekends with sunset parties from 19:00, featuring music, shiatsu, body balance and movie sessions starting at 21:00.
