The Village Underground located at the Museu da Carris Alcantara, is the latest area of "co-working" in Lisbon for the creative industries. Built in an area of 300 square meters, includes 14 shipping containers and 2 Carris buses.

The architectural design and assembling of containers was directed by João Cassiano, from the studio Arte Tectónica, and the building is from the construction company 686 Construções.

Behind this idea is Mariana Duarte Silva from the communications agency Madame Management. During her stay in London, Mariana worked for a year and a half in one of the subway cars of Village Underground Londres. It was such a great experience that she decided to import the concept and bring it to Lisbon.

Applications are open until all containers are occupied.

The space has opened its doors April 9th with an event for press, partners and residents, but the big opening party for the public will be on the 10th of May, Saturday.
