Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2013

Designed by award-winning Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto, the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2013 will be open to the public from Saturday 8th June and can be visited until 20 October 2013.

Since 2000, the Serpentine Gallery annually invites internationally renowned architects to design a pavilion on the exterior spaces of the gallery, housing a summer cultural program, functioning as an exclusive showcase for contemporary architecture that attracts about 300,000 visitors a year, standing out as one of the 10 world's most visited architecture and design exhibitions.

World's first 'invisible' tower

in Seoul, South Korea

The idea of ​​an invisible skyscraper is something innovative, capable of stimulating the imagination of anyone interested in architecture.

Designed by the American GDS Architects, the first "invisible" tower in the world will have over 450 meters high, ranking among the 10 tallest buildings in the world. Through optical illusion effects and lighting, Tower Infinity will seem to disappear in the sky, making it less noticeable.

World Architecture Festival 2014

Shortlist unveiled

Taking place at this year’s seventh annual World Architecture Festival the WAF awards 2014 have attracted entries from more than 50 countries. Practices will compete across 27 individual award categories, spanning completed buildings, landscape projects and future projects.

A Buddhist temple in Singapore, an invisible eco-tourism resort in Turkey, a maritime museum in Copenhagen and the new masterplan for Gatwick Airport are among the projects that have been shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival (WAF) awards 2014.
