The three months in which the city of Lisbon was invaded by architecture, spoken, heard, looked, experienced ... are approaching the end.

It's already next Sunday, December 15, the closing day for the exhibitions of the 3rd Lisbon Architecture Triennale - Close, Closer.

Architects or others, here is the invitation to visit some still ongoing free exhibitions.

Architects Eduardo Souto de Moura and Álvaro Siza Vieira are the creators of the installation "Stone Raft" which will be on display during the Iberian contemporary creative work showcase in Washington, next March.

The installation is an initiative of the Art Institute, sponsored by the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD), and will be exposed in front of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the US national cultural center.

This year, the International Union of Architects (UIA) will award its Gold Medal to the Chinese born American architect, Ieoh Ming Pei.

At the age of 97, this well known architect authored some of the world's most preeminent structures, such as the extension of the Louvre Museum in Paris, with its famous glass pyramid, the Johnson Museum of Art in New York or the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar.

The World Expo has shown us the best in innovation and creativity in the construction world since 1851 and 2015 will be no different.
After the 2012 edition in Yeosu, Milan will be the next destination for the event.

Between the different participants in the Expo, one building stands out - the French Pavilion - proposed by Anouk Legendre e Nicolas Desmazieres, also known as X-TU.

In February 2012 a fire destroyed the Brazilian Comandante Ferraz Station in the Antarctic. In order to rebuild this station, which serves as a basis for environmental scientific research, in particular for the study of climate change, the Brazilian Navy launched a competition.

The winner was announced last April 15th: the Studio 41 from Curitiba.
