“How will the world capital of New York house a million new inhabitants by the year 2040?”
This was the question that started Metropolis Magazine's architecture and design competition: Living Cities.
After careful consideration, two winners and four runner-ups were chosen, here's the run down.

Sleeping like a Bauhausler, is the call from Bauhaus Dessau, in Germany, inviting its visitors to spend one night or more as a Bauhaus student of the 1920s.

Head in the Clouds is the most recent pavilion designed for “city of dreams art celebration” 2013, and can be visited until 22 September on Governors Island, New York.

Exploring the concept of sustainability, this pavilion is entirely built with recycled materials, reusing 53,780 plastic bottles and milk jugs - roughly the amount that is discarded in New York over 1 hour. 

The well-known American magazine Travel + Leisure has just unveiled the winners of the T + L Design Awards 2014.

The winner in the category Best Resort was the Pedras Salgadas spa & nature park, a resort in the Park of Pedras Salgadas consisting of modern modular homes, Tree Houses and Eco Houses, adapted to the terrain morphology and designed to coexist in close harmony with the natural beauty of the Park.
