Huge pit or Skyscraper?

"Chicago Spire" by Santiago Calatrava

Due to severe financial problems, the site where it was supposed to be the "Chicago Spire" - the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere - remains since the height of the financial crisis in 2008, as a huge pit in the cityscape of Chicago.

Finally, the situation may be about to change for this twisted skyscraper 2000 feet high, designed by Santiago Calatrava.

The conference will take place at House of Arts in Oporto on the 28th of February at 18h00.

Evolution Door

The Austrian Klemens Torggler recent invented the "Evolution Door," an innovative hinged door based on rotation squares that make the door move sideways without the use of tracks on the floor neither on the ceiling.

The process is really fascinating, as you can see through the videos.

The president of Real Madrid unveils winning project

The president of Real Madrid officially unveiled the project winner of the “International Tender for Architectural Ideas for the remodelling of the Santiago Bernabéu”, stating  “We want to turn the Santiago Bernabéu into the best stadium in the world, in a unique location that will be a global symbol”.

See some images and the promotional video of the project shows its implementation step by step, from the removal of the current roof, through the construction of new wings, to the implementation of the new exterior structure.
