The Prince of Astúrias prizes are a series of anual tributes given to individuals or institutions all around the world that advanced humanity in various fields of sciences, arts, humanities or any others. The Fundación Príncipe de Astúrias decided that it was Frank Gehry, the canadian-american architect's turn.

The famous artist was chosen as the 34th awarded candidate for the relevance and impact of his creations on various countries. Not to mention his overall impact on the world of architecture.
